100 Things About Me

1. I’m addicted to Mountain Dew.
2. I’m an atheist.
3. But I went to Catholic school all my life.
4. And majored in Religious Studies in college.
5. I lost all my friends in 6^th grade for no reason except that kids are mean.
6. I lost them all again in 8^th grade.
7. My best friend in High School had a nervous breakdown and dropped out.
8. I pretty much never talked to her again.
9. I regret that.
10. I haven’t had a best friend since.
11. I went abroad in college to London.
12. I hated every minute of it.
13. Except when I traveled to France, Italy, and the Netherlands.
14. I like pot.
15. I don’t smoke it anymore because I do stupid things when I do.
16. I have freakishly good hearing.
17. And 20-10 vision.
18. I might be a superhero, but I don’t think so.
19. I don’t like chocolate too much.
20. But I love white chocolate.
21. I can’t eat ice cream cuz I got the ‘tose.
22. I have an older brother and an older sister.
23. Both are married with 2 kids each.
24. My father’s an alcoholic.
25. So are both my grandfathers and a whole bunch of other people in my family.
26. When I was younger, I used to dye my hair pink and shave it underneath.
27. I also had my eyebrow pierced.
28. I still have my belly button pierced, don’t ask me why.
29. I’ve never been in love and probably never will be.
30. I used to hate school, but now I wish I was still there.
31. I hate working a job, but I get bored when I don’t go.
32. I love to sleep.
33. I usually remember all of my dreams vividly.
34. I never thought I would wait to get married to have sex like my friends, but then they all ended up having sex before me.
35. I truly believe college is the best 4 years of your life. I’ve spent every day wishing I was still there.
36. I don’t want to turn into my father.
37. I like dark beer.
38. I hate hard alcohol, especially doing shots.
39. People think I’m artistic, but I think I’m no better than anyone else.
40. I hate talking on the phone.
41. I’m pretty clean, except when I’m lazy, which is often.
42. I didn’t have my first kiss until I was seventeen.
43. It was with a friend who told me, as we were making out, that he was interested in someone else.
44. I should have known then.
45. Sometimes I’m too honest for my own good.
46. I hate everything about the beach-the sun, the sand, the saltwater, the seaweed, the sunburn, the subsequent skin cancer….why does everything start with the letter “s”?
47. But I could never not live near the ocean.
48. I like those crazy shows on TLC like “The boy whose skin fell off” or “The man with the exploding arms.”
49. I had a dog named Buffy growing up.
50. I miss her all the time.
51. I love doing the New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle.
52. I went to Australia when I was five to visit my aunt, uncle and cousins.
53. My aunt died a few years ago from an asthma attack.
54. I feel awful because sometimes I forget she’s dead since we never used to see her much anyway.
55. My favorite time of day is sunset. I think everyone looks beautiful in the light of dusk.
56. I never wear earrings; I think they make my ears look weird.
57. I hate gold jewelry.
58. I hate football with a passion.
59. I don’t like horror movies or slapstick comedy and now romantic comedies.
60. I hate Jim Carey and Dane Cook.
61. I think Conor Oberst is my soulmate.
62. I could eat a whole box of Somoa girl scout cookies in one sitting.
63. I hate my birthday. Each year it seems to get worse.
64. When people give me that extra 4 cents at the register, I can’t do the math to give them change-embarrassing.
65. I used to hate flared jeans, then started wearing them, then skinny jeans became trendy.
66. I will never wear skinny jeans.
67. I go to the movies by myself.
68. Sometimes I think the people who know me best, don’t know me at all.
69. And vice-versa.
70. I have a really bad sugary sweet tooth.
71. I think a ghost used to live in my house growing up.
72. I don’t speak another language, but wish I did.
73. I don’t play an instrument, but wish I did.
74. I have curly hair.
75. But I straighten it everyday.
76. I hate roller coasters.
77. I ran cross country in high school and played softball.
78. I got hit in the face with a softball and am now scared of the ball.
79. I hate motorcycles and tattoos.
80. I had my hand slammed in a car door.
81. When I was seven, I was hit in the head with a baseball bat by my best friend.
82. I regret not slutting it up in college.

84. I hate my sister-in-law.
85. Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong decade.
86. I know all the words to the Princess Bride by heart.
87. I am a romantic.
88. I remember exactly where I was and what I was wearing on 9/11.
89. I’m mostly Irish and Scottish.
90. I have the fairest skin and hoards of freckles to prove it.
91. I love every part of traveling-airports, planes, living out of a suitcase, hotels, sightseeing…
92. I hate Yahtzee.
93. I hate that I don’t flirt well.
94. When I was younger, I used to put my feet on everything, and annoy my sister.
95. I’m getting really sick of this list.
96. I hate my part-time job.
97. I would rather be blind than deaf because I could not live without music.
98. But I would rather sign than have to walk with a stick or guide dog.
99. I used to want to be an archaeologist.
100. Instead, I became an archivist.
